I always enjoy the summer holidays and they are always filled with lots of adventures. We all had a fun and busy August with lots of activities, days out and a holiday to Spain. We have also had lots of progress made on our house extension which is really good to see. Here’s what we got up to in August.
Summer Holiday Activities
The kids like to keep busy during the summer holidays so when we were not on days out we were baking, painting, den building and going on bike rides. I also took them through a car wash which they had been asking to do for a while and its something that I used to love as a child. Even though it didn’t last long they both thought it was great, and we ended up with a clean car at the end of it! Everyone’s a winner 🙂
Amelia also lost her first tooth during the holidays and was very excited about having a visit from the tooth fairy!
We were lucky enough to have some fun days out in August. Some of the places we loved visiting were:
- Everyman Cinema, Chelmsford, Essex
- Adventure Island, Southend-on-Sea, Essex
- Landguard Fort, Felixstowe, Suffolk
- Hollow Trees Farm, Ipswich, Suffolk
- Orford Quay, Orford, Suffolk
- Hockley Woods, Hockley, Essex
- Colchester Zoo, Colchester, Essex
Holiday to Spain
During the last two weeks in August we went to stay at my in laws holiday home in Spain. They have a house in the small Spanish village of Orxeta which sits in land up in the mountains between Benidorm and Alicante. We have been visiting Spain for many years now and the kids always enjoy their time there. It was a lovely two weeks going swimming, to the beach, on days out and eating lots of Paella.
We tried two new places this year, Tabarca Island and Canelobre Caves. For more information about these places click here.
We started work extending our house in June this year. Its been great watching the progress and so far we still have a fully working kitchen so it hasn’t effected everyday life just yet! We were shocked to come back after our two weeks in Spain to find the second story taking shape. Watch this space for more updates.
Can’t believe we are now in September and back to a new school year. Thank you very much for taking the time to read our August Adventures.
