January is always a quiet month for us, recovering from a hectic Christmas with too much eating and drinking. January meant getting back into a normal routine. Back to the school run and all the kids after school clubs starting up again. Good thing about January ending is it means we are over half way through Winter and one step closer to Spring! Happy days! 🙂 This is what we got up to in January.
Its a kids life
We had an inset day set in January so off we went to Suffolk to visit Nanny and make the most of the kids being off school. We were very lucky and had a sunny winters day so spent some time playing at the park before spending the afternoon at the cinema seeing Paddington Bear 2. Would highly recommend the film, very funny!
On a very wet and miserable Saturday afternoon we got inside and away from the rain at Partyman World of Play in Braintree. The kids had a great time running around exploring the soft play area while I enjoyed a coffee and a book! Read what we thought of Partyman World of Play here.
There have been lots of changes inside our house this month. New walls have gone up, ensuite has been fitted and the extension has been plastered ready for painting! The house has been full of activity and tradespeople. I have lost count of how many teas and coffees I have made!
It was great seeing the ensuite come together. I was so excited to see what the tiles we had chosen looked like. Luckily I am really thrilled with the outcome! Now to find some accessories to add those finishing touches.
Our kitchen arrived at the end of the month in a million boxes all piled up high and ready to be fitted. Cant wait to see it coming together and the kitchen finally taking shape. I have managed without one but cooking on an electric camping hob is starting to loose its novelty! We have been able to cook quite normally though with our little make shift kitchen including my Broccoli and Stilton Soup.
