November seems to have been and gone in a flash (and a few bangs). Fireworks always start our November and it finishes with the Christmas lights decorating our streets. Its been a busy time for us with lots of decisions being made on our house extension. This is what we got up to in November.
Fireworks, Poppies and Painting
Guy Fawkes night is always lots of fun. I still love watching a good fireworks display. Its become a tradition to meet up with friends and enjoy the fireworks together.
I feel its important to make sure the children are aware of what Remembrance Sunday is all about. We watched our local Remembrance parade in town and saw all the local scout groups marching through the high street.
Amelia loves a trip to our local clay and painting centre. The Clay Cottage is a great place for children to choose an item to paint. Zach and Amelia painted gifts for their Grandad’s birthday but they have lots of Christmas decorations and gifts to paint.
Gin and tea O’clock
We celebrated a friends birthday in a great small bar trying some lovely gins. Vino Vero in Leigh on Sea is perfect for a get together with friends. We got to try three great gins all served with a different tonic and garnish. They run a number of different events and sell a large selections of wines, beers and spirits. Would highly recommend trying it out.
You can’t beat a coffee morning get together with friends, enjoying tea, cake and a chat. Its even better when its to raise money for charity. My friend is running the London Marathon next year to help raise money for a great charity, The Terrance Higgins Trust. Read her story and the great work the charity does here.
Its starting to look a lot like Christmas…
The end of November means Christmas is getting ever closer and decorations and lights start to appear. We went to two of our local Christmas light switch ons. Its a great way to kick off the Christmas season and start to feel festive. I even had my first mince pie and mulled wine. Its so nice to see the high street lit up with lights.
The House extension has made a lot of visual progress this month. The new windows have gone in and the house has been rendered. The scaffolding has finally been taken down so we no longer have an obstacle course to get into our front door! It so nice to see it looking more like a house.
Work has started on our bathroom with tiles being laid but this meant loosing half of our existing bathroom. All fun and games as they say!
Going to be loosing our kitchen in December so making preparations for that. This means a makeshift kitchen in the living room! Thank goodness for microwaves and slow cookers.
As always, thank you for reading my post. Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. My other posts in November were –
